Page for: Vic Barlow and TJ Windsor (Team ASV) Our Personal Message:
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. On Sunday 25th March 2012 I shall reach the ripe old age of 65. It just happens to coincide with the Wilmslow Half-Marathon Event that day. As you may know, I have already entered it twice, my best effort being 2011 when I managed 6 miles! This time I am determined to do much better than that and celebrate my birthday with a Finishers Medal!! I am making this effort in pursuance of much-needed funds for the Animal Support Volunteers which I founded in 2008. Please help the ASV to continue its work with needy animals (and their owners!) I just hope that I don't disgrace Team ASV!! Vic has successfully completed these events before - I must need my head examining!
Making a donation through Charity Giving is simple. charitygiving.co.uk is operated by The Dove Trust, a charity with over 25 years experience of helping individuals, charities and good causes globally, so your giving is safe and secure.
Charity Giving will reclaim gift aid tax on your donation (if you are a UK taxpayer), meaning any donation is worth around 25% more. They also charge less than other fundraising websites, so more money goes to this great cause!
We are raising money for The Animal Support Volunteers:
The Volunteers provide care and shelter to animals in need, mainly cats and often have cats and dogs needing new loving homes. The group also assists owners with the care of their animals in times of need, such as a hospital stay - either by providing short-term fostering or through care in the owner's home. They specialize in the retrieval of dead cats from the roadside, when they will attempt to locate the owners and provide a sympathetic contact. Microchipping pets can be undertaken at VERY favourable rates. FUNDS are required firstly in order to help with vets fees and secondly, because we want to purchase a mobile cat pen. This can be used to settle-in the outdoor cats when taken to farms, stables etc where they will eventually be living free again.
