Elaine's Personal Message:
Thank you for visiting this online fundraising page.
All Saints Church is first mentioned in official records in 1136 when the Lord of the Manor (Geoffrey de Mandeville) gave the church as an endowment to the Abbey which he founded at Saffron Walden in Essex. Because of this historic link with Saffron Walden, it seems appropriate to undertake a Pilgrimmage from Edmonton to the the town where the Abbey we helped to found was sited as part of our Anniversary celebrations. At the same time, as 2011 sees the launch of a Restoration Fundraising effort to raise £500,000 to restore the Tower of our Grade II listed building, our Pilgrimmage will also be sponsored.
Our team of twelve people will be leaving All Saints at 4am on Saturday 30th April and aiming to be at Saffron Walden 15 hours later! They are all training hard; you can't just walk 42 miles without a little preparation! So, please encourage their efforts by sponsoring the whole team through this charity giving web page.
Although Elaine Maul has created this page, it is for the whole team's efforts and it will enable those people who wish to cheer everyone on to do so. Thank you :)
Making a donation through CharityGiving is simple. charitygiving.co.uk is operated by The Dove Trust, a charity with almost 30 years' experience of helping individuals, charities and good causes globally, so your giving is safe and secure.
CharityGiving will reclaim gift aid tax on your donation (if you are a UK taxpayer), meaning any donation is worth around 25% more. They also charge less than most other fundraising websites, so more money goes to this great cause!
Elaine is raising money for Tower Restoration:
Our tower restoration appeal, launched at the beginning of 2011 (our 875th Anniversary Year) is to raise £500,000 in order to restore the tower in our Grade II Listed Church.

Keep your feet dry; and remember - brandy for the cold, whiskey for the tiredness and gin for the tedium!
You will not need luck so we'll not proffer it, you will need prayers and you have ours

Good luck both in raising the money and also to the walkers - some of whom, I suspect, may need more than luck ! I shall be thinking of them - as I do my Zumba class - just for an hour!
