LASSN aims to meet some of the needs of refugees and asylum seekers by reducing isolation, providing advocacy support, encouraging self help and enabling integration. We run three volunteering projects: a befriending project, an English-at-Home project and the Short Stop voluntary hosting project offering short term accommodation. Our second aim is to raise awareness about issues affecting asylum seekers through conferences, newsletters, talks, training and initiatives like Leeds City of Sanctuary.
