Dorothy's Personal Message:
Hello All :)
I’m going to Nepal over the summer to build classrooms with S.V.A- Student Volunteers Abroad, a charity based in the University of Glasgow. To reach the target of £13,500, I’m holding a postcard art auction on June the 26th at King Street Gallery in Carmarthen (South West Wales).
All the postcards will be exhibited from the 1st of June until the auction on the 26th. The way it works is- £40 gets you a numbered ticket. On the day of the auction, tickets will be pulled out of a hat, and when a person’s number is called, that person goes and chooses a postcard. Simples.
So far, I have donations from the following artists... Valeri Ganz Prudence Walters (11 pieces donated) Susan Sands Nigel Wood Ric Bower Tina and Annemarie Schone Charlotte Leadbeater Diana Heeks Mark Cox Mark Morris Robert Kelsey Jaqueline Orr Frank To Martin McInally Steffie Murray Peter Jackman Louise Bird Nan Mulder Andrew McCutcheon Elizabeth Brickell Ian Scott Massie Ian Irving Victoria Malcom Valerie Land Dawn Bristoll Penny Jones Wyn Mainwairing Steffie Murray Phil Alder Katie Lampitt Adly (current Glasgow School of Art student)
And also two handwritten englynion from the bard, Mererid Hopwood.
The pieces of work are a variety of drawings, paintings, photographs, mixed media, collages, charcoal, pastel etc.
49 tickets are available, everyone who purchases a ticket is guaranteed an original piece of art work!
The postcards can now be seen on a Facebook group 'Nepal Postcard Art Auction' and will be exhibited from the 1st of June at the King Steet Galllery, Carmarthen.
Ticket can be purchased three ways- By donating £40 online At the King Street Gallery, Carmarthen Or cheques can be made payable to Student Volunteers Abroad, which can be sent to my address (email me on dotbere@hotmail.co.uk or contact me via the facebook group for this).
If you are unable to make the auction you can send someone on your behalf, or let me know your first, second and third choices and I will choose them for you.
Thanks a million :)
