Some bike it hot! / (Not so) Easy Rider / P-cyclo / ... any more suggestions welcome!
On 16th May I will be attempting to complete the Etape Caledonia. This is an 81 mile cycle event, starting at Pitlochry, heading round Lochs Tummel and Rannoch, up over the Schiehallion road, down through Strath Tay and back to Pitlochry. This will be by far the longest cycle I've ever attempted and will be real challenge for me.
I've decided to use this opportunity to try and raise money for the Friends of the Birks Cinema ( see right for more details). It would be great if you were able to sponsor me even a small amount. Free popcorn for all sponsors once the cinema is complete!
And if you can't sponsor me, then come to the area and give me a wave! I'll be easy to spot - somewhere near the back, pink face, and proudly sporting a Friends of the Birks Cinema t-shirt.

Elspeth is raising money for Friends Of The Birks Cinema:
Friends of the Birks Cinema are a small charity established to raise funds to purchase, renovate and refurbish the 1939 Birks CInema in the heart of Aberfeldy. Our vision for the cinema is: - a state of the art 92-seat cinema which can also serve as a venue for live performances such as music, lectures, drama - digital system for showing of up to date movies, including 3-D, and a wide ranging programme tailored to different interests and age groups - capacity for broadcast links – including live showings of sports, opera and other events from around the world - café-bar open to all from morning to late evening - a social enterprise run for the benefit of the people of Highland Perthshire
Our belief is that through provision of a fantastic cinema and performing arts venue, run as a social enterprise by local people all within a refurbished much loved iconic building in the central Square of Aberfeldy, the town and surrounding area will benefit socially and economically.
