Established in 1947, the British Herpetological Society (BHS) was initiated to actively promote and support the study of reptiles and amphibians worldwide. The BHS is a leading and prestigious society in this field.

Acting via project groups and specialist committees, the BHS focuses on education, conservation, scientific research and care in captivity. Although managed and run entirely on a voluntary basis, the society produces a number of high quality publications including the Herpetological Journal, one of the world's leading scientific publications devoted to herpetology.

Along with supporting and funding conservation projects worldwide, the society operates a land fund - purchasing and owning land to aid continued survival of rare and endangered species.
By making a donation to the BHS, you will be directly supporting reptile and amphibian conservation and research. Follow the link to our website www.thebhs.org to learn more about the society, its activities and current projects.
