Charlene's Project was set up by Charlene Barr, a 19 year old with cystic fibrosis. She had to drop out of school as a result of her deteriorating health and decided to use her time to fundraise to build a school in Uganda so that children in a needy community there had the opportunity to have an education. She originally started to raise £100,000 to build a school, Hidden Treasure, but as her project developed she raised sufficient funds to build teacher accomodation and also a well for the local community.
