Thank you for visiting our fundraising page for Shelter Box. Through Harrogate Brigantes Rotary Club we are raising money to buy Shelter Boxes. Shelter Boxes provide shelter and support for 10 people and have been provided following the recent disasters in Fiji,Haiti, Mexico, Niger, Pakistan, Peru...... A Shelter box is a large green box that contains a tent, sleeping bags, blankets, cooking equipment, drinking water purification, tools etc sufficient for 10 people. When a disaster occurs a dedicated , trained group of people are dispatched to the area to manage and organise distribution of the boxes. It is life saving in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. As donations come in , boxes can be prepared and stored ready for immediate issue when needed.
