Our family of ten relies upon a Kombi to get the children to school each day. Houseparent, Luiz-Claudio, spends a staggering four hours a day taking the children to five different schools. Our present Kombi is almost ten years old and has done 269,000km. It’s steering, gears and engine are all worn out and it desperately needs replacing.
Thanks to a VW Dealer in Brazil who wants to support our work, we have arranged an amazing deal on a Brand New Kombi which will last us for the next ten years! The cost of vehicles in Brazil is very very high, and after selling the old Kombi, we need to raise £4,500 to buy a new vehicle.
Our Director of Operations in Curitiba, Brazil, is also in dire need of new transport. Her current car is 12 years old and has done 163,000km. She relies on this car to travel back and forth across the city, to the favela and to many offices, including the justice department, council and government offices every week. This administration is essential, and without reliable transport, it cannot be done.
We would like to replace this car with a second-hand, more eco-friendly and reliable car, which will cost £3,500 after selling our existing car. Without replacing our vehicles very soon, the work of VfC could quite literally come to a standstill, so any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated.

new transport is needed!
We are raising money for Voice For Change New Car Appeal:
The Brazilian Government has introduced a similiar incentive for new car purchases as many countries in Europe, including the UK. A VW dealer in the city is giving massive 20%discount on new Kombi's for charities, making it cheaper to buy new than second-hand up to 31 July 2009.
So this is a fantastic opportiunity to get rid of the rustheaps which we are driving around in at the moment, and get some reliable transport for our workers and children in brasil.
To buy two new vehicles will cost £19,500, but we can get an allowance of £11,500 on the cars we have, so we only have to raise £8,000 to get this mission accomplished.
